Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born December 13, 1989 in Pennsylvania's West Reading. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre for more than 20 years. Her tales about romance and love at first sight has earned her the acclaim of many throughout the 21st century. Swift began to develop an interest in musical instruments as a young person and soon progressed from performing in kids' shows, and then making her first public appearance the front of a crowd. The moment Swift performed The Star-Spangled Banner in front of a Philadelphia 76ers game when she was 11. She was already writing songs. The next year she took up guitar. Swift, who took her ideas from Shania's music as well as The Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks within the realm of country music, composed her original songs to reflect the feeling of being alienated. Swift left Pennsylvania along with her parents to Hendersonville, Tennessee when she was 13 years old to dedicate her time in contacting country labels.
